How to register on GeM in 2026

8 min read

Who can register on GeM?

Any Indian business — proprietorship, partnership, LLP, or company — with a valid PAN, GST (where applicable), and bank account can register as a seller on Government e-Marketplace (GeM).

GeM registration is free, but document mistakes cause 7–14 day rejections. Prepare everything before you start.

Documents checklist by entity type

Proprietorship: PAN, Aadhaar, Udyam/MSME certificate, GST (if turnover exceeds threshold), cancelled cheque, Class 3 DSC.

Partnership / Company: Partnership deed or Certificate of Incorporation, firm/company PAN, board resolution or partner consent, GST, bank proof, Class 3 DSC for authorised signatory.

Common rejection reasons

PAN name mismatch with Aadhaar (including initials), bank account in personal name instead of business name, Class 2 DSC instead of Class 3, documents uploaded as JPG instead of PDF.

Use GemSetu's free registration readiness wizard at /get-started to check your documents before submitting on GeM.

After registration

Once approved, add products to your catalogue with correct HSN codes, set up bid alerts for your categories, and track orders through the CRAC → PFMS payment pipeline.
